How We Can Help

DSC059142-300x225

RFF collaborates with and has working agreements with over 30 local social service agencies and churches who are working with families in need throughout McLean County. These qualifying families fall into one or more of three categories:

  • Persons fleeing domestic violence
  • Persons coming out of homelessness
  • Person living with incomes at or below the federal poverty guidelines.

For families to receive services from Recycling Furniture for Families:

  1. They must be a current client of an approved local social service organization, ministry, or church.
  2. As a client of an approved organization, they should discuss their need with their caseworker and request a referral.
  3. If qualified, their caseworker will fax a referral to RFF (only faxed referrals are accepted).
  4. Upon referral, they will receive a copy of the Client Agreement for Receiving Services form and the What to Expect Regarding RFF Service flyer from their caseworker.
  5. In most cases, it normally takes 24-48 hours to process and approve the referral. A referred client who has not heard back from us within 48 hours, should contact their referring caseworker.
  6. Once a referral is approved, RFF contacts the client and schedules an appointment.

Recycling Furniture for Families operates on a referral basis only. Walk-ins are not accepted. Additionally, RFF does not sell donated items to the general public.

Cooperating Agencies
At this time, RFF has cooperating agreements and thus only accepts referrals from the organizations listed below. The publication of this list is for informational purposes only and in no means a recommendation by RFF to any of the organizations listed. Families in need should seek out the appropriate service that works with their area of need in order to become a client of that service.
