Who we help

RF4F collaborates with more than 70 local social service agencies and churches that are working with families in need throughout McLean County. These qualifying families fall into at least one of the following categories:

Persons fleeing domestic violence
Persons coming out of homelessness
Persons living with incomes at or below the federal poverty guidelines.

For families to receive service

A family must be a current client of an approved local organization, ministry, or church and not have received service from RF4F in the past unless meeting an approved exception. As a client of an approved social service organization, they should discuss their need with their caseworker and request a referral. If qualified, their caseworker will fax or e-mail a scanned referral to RF4F.

Upon referral, the family’s case worker will give them a Client Agreement and information regarding what to expect from RF4F. In most cases, it takes 24-48 hours to process and approve the referral. If a referred client has not heard back from us within 48 hours, they should contact their referring caseworker.

Once a referral is approved, RF4F contacts the family and schedules an appointment to select furniture for their home. Because we operate on a referral basis only, walk-ins are not accepted. Additionally, RF4F does not sell donated items to the general public.

Cooperating Agencies

At this time, RF4F has cooperating agreements and thus only accepts referrals from the organizations listed below. The publication of this list is for informational purposes only and in no means a recommendation by RF4F to any of the organizations listed. Families in need should seek out the appropriate service that works with their area of need in order to become a client of that service.
