Recycling Furniture for Families is in need of more volunteers to help in various roles at our non-profit organization.

Front desk help

Activities include answering phones, scheduling client appointments, and other clerical activities during office hours (Monday-Thursday 9am–5pm, Saturday 9am–Noon).

A few hours a week would be a great help to our organization and community!

Delivering client furniture and picking up furniture donations

This would be for a two-hour commitment either as a driver or an assistant on the following days:

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays from 10am–Noon

Tuesdays from 4:30pm–6:30pm

Volunteers need to have the physical ability to lift and move furniture, and drivers also need to have valid driver’s license and good driving record.  You can choose to be available one or more times each week, or be on call to potentially fill in when scheduled volunteer has to cancel for some reason, subject to your own availability for that day.

Help in the warehouse with the donated items

Light work duties include sorting and stocking linens and kitchen items (towels, sheets, pots and pans, plates, silverware, etc.).  Heavy work duties include stocking furniture that has arrived from donors and loading the truck prior to deliveries.

These can be done at the volunteer’s convenience during office hours (Monday-Thursday 9am–5pm, Saturday 9am–Noon) for whatever length of time the volunteer has available on a given day.

Please contact Frank Downes at director@rf4f.org or 309-829-6500 if you are interested in helping us help our community for one of those roles!
